What digital content and thinking tools can help me design, construct and deliver pedagogically sound learning experiences for my students? A central challenge for the education system is to find ways of embedding learning in a range of meaningful contexts where students can use their knowledge and skills creatively to make an impact on the world around them.

Digital Learning Content is information for teaching and learning provided electronically and viewed on a computer or similar device. Digital Learning Content typically is made up of small units of instruction called learning objects that can be used, shared and adapted for teaching and learning. Digital learning content exemplifies the enormous benefits that advances in technology can bring to everyday life. Its potential to improve how teachers teach and how students learn has only begun to be realized.

Abundance:

Volume of resources and relationships accessible on the Internet changes the role of educators in sense-making, coaching, and validating the credibility of information Just in Time Learning: People want and expect to be able to work, learn, and study at any time and wherever they want to do so Collaboration: Students output is increasingly collaborative, and there is more cross-campus collaboration between departments.

When content is developed for one system and one purpose, it is valued for how well it works in that system and how well it achieves that purpose.

Challenges in using digital content

Connectivity- various parts of the country may not be connected to internet or if connected, there may be some outage on connectivity which makes it difficult to connect to online content. Reliability of power in case power black-outs, electronic gadgets cannot be used. Always print out a hard copy of the content for use when there is power blackout. Technical support Sometimes electronic gadgets fail to work for various reasons. In such situations one needs some technical support to put the gadgets in good working order. Navigation Some content may be designed in such a complex manner that navigation to various sections of the same content is difficult. Cost some digital content may be costly in terms of user licenses hence teachers should choose content that can be procured without strain by the School.
