Understanding Multimedia Applications

Multimedia combines multiple forms of media like text, audio, images, video, and animation to represent information in an interactive and engaging way. It utilizes both hardware and software to allow for nonlinear presentation of content. Producers have acknowledged the benefits of multimedia for sharing content as it engages users by giving them more control over how they access information compared to only passive reception. Common applications of multimedia include business, marketing, entertainment, education, banking, and hospitals.
