There are 5 Types Of Fossils :-
Fossils are Categorized into Five different types
( body fossils , Molecular fossils , Trace fossils , Carbon fossils )

Body Fossils:-
These Fossils are remain of an animal or plant such as their bones shells and leaves the
hard skeleton such as shell or bone is easier to preserve than the soft tissues such as skin ,
muscle , organs ….ect or weak animal skeleton like shrimp an insect .
Body fossils is include mold and cast :- a mold is an impression left on the shell by rock
surrounded by the shell mold are divisible into two categories ( external & internal molds)
Cast are described as replicas of the shell or bone that are formed from external or
internal molds .

Molecular Fossils :-
The products of cellular biosynthesis get incorporated into sediments and then finally into
a rock .
Trace Fossils :-
It is a traces left by an animal or plant that has made an impression such as nests foot
prints or any mark representing their time on earth the bodily structure of organisms or
plants remain as a mineral form .

Carbon Fossils : - a comman element that all living things contain is carbon whenever an
orgnism died and buried in sediment , carbon remains where other materials that make
the organism get break down .
Pseudo Fossils :- It neither plants nor animals as these are the watery solutions of verious
minerals that take the shape of plant or animal .

How are FOSSIL Formed ?

The organism dies and covered by earth , mud and sediments the covering slow down the
decay . Over time the minerals harden in to rock leaving a cast Fossil *** Bones , teeth ,
shells don’t decay for thousands of years .

S Sedimentary rocks hold fossils

S Some are imprints

I Insects might be in amber

L Lime tone is a good presever of fossils


What Are The Artifact ?
A) An object made by a human being of any time and place
B) Observed in a scientific investigation

What Are Types Of Artifacts?


* Stone tools , Pottery vessels metal objects such as weapons
and items of personal adornment such as buttons jewelry and
clothing , Bones that show signs of human modification are
also examples

*** Some artifact can also refer to there main so fa fan object such as a shard of broken
pottery or glassware .
• Burial coins , painted pottery , telephones or anything else
• That evidences the social , political , economic or religious organization of the people
whom they belonged to can be considered cultural artifacts . thy
The most Famous artifact in the world is ?
Mask of tutankhamun Cairo , Egypt the ancient world's best known artifact is the
death mask of a boy – king from 1323BC it’s made from two layers of gold ininlaid with
glass and gemstones and shows tutankhamun’s face sulmounted by ahead – cloth with
a cobra insignia .
