THE USE OF WISH
1. For unreal situation
I wish (that) I studied algebra (Fact: I don’t study algebra)
2. Greeting Expression and good wishes
I wish you a “lucky day”
3. Express regret about past event
I wish you had finished the work (Fact: You did not do the work)
4. For something that might happen in the future
I wish I can come to your wedding party
THE USE OF HOPE
1. To express a good will
I hope (that) you have a good time
2. To express possibility about a desired hope
I hope it won’t rain tomorrow
3. For unreal condition
I hope I had my breakfast this morning (fact: I didn’t have my breakfast this
morning)
