Understanding Business Research Basics

Business research is defined as the systematic and objective process of generating information to aid in business decision making. There are two main types of business research: basic research which attempts to expand the limits of knowledge without directly solving problems, and applied research which is conducted to make decisions about specific real-world problems. Business research should be conducted when there is insufficient information available, the decision is of strategic importance, and the value of the research outweighs the costs.
