Entrepreneurship Development Programmes
EDPs offered both by Govt. organisations and NGOs Initially Small Industries Extension and Training Institute (SIET), Hyderabad selected 52 young persons in 1971 from business and industrial community
Objectives
Develop and strengthen entrepreneurial quality Analyse environmental set up relating to small industry and small business Select product Formulate project Understand the process and procedures Know the sources of help and support Acquire necessary managerial skills Know the pros and cons in becoming entrepreneur
Other objectives
Let them set or reset objectives for their business Prepare them to accept uncertainty involved Enable them to take decision Enable to communicate effectively Develop a broad vision Develop passion for integrity and honesty make them learn compliance with law

Training phase
Training prog. Is launched to make necessary changes in the skills, attitude and beaviour Motivational inputs used psychological games, tests, goal setting exercise, role play, etc. It enables them to do self study, understand their own personality and behaviour and bring about the changes
Post training phase
Assessment about the achievement of objectives Also called as follow-up Preparing and maintaining separate file for each trainee Cards are maintained to record the progress from time to time Keep in touch with participants through mail Contact them by personal visits Conduct follow up meetings and maintain follow up register to ensure the successs
