Eternal Life
What is “eternal life”
 For God So Loved the World
John 3:16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the
world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, (
God Send the son) so that whoever believes in (trusts in,
clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction,
be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
Like most of us, you probably think that this "eternal life" is a
other word for "going to heaven when we die." But that
would not be the truth. 
John 3:17 For (God did not send the Son) into the world in
order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on)
the world, but that the world might find salvation and be
made safe and sound through Him.(AMP)
Eternal life traditionally refers
to continued life after death
The Gospel of John differs from
them in its emphasis on eternal
life as a "present possession".
 John 5:24 (AMP) 
I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the
person whose ears are open to My words
[who listens to My message] and believes and
trusts in and clings to and relies on Him Who
sent Me has (possesses now) eternal life.
And he does not come into judgment [does
not incur sentence of judgment, will not come
under condemnation], but he has already
passed over out of death into life.
Joh 6:54 He who feeds on My
flesh and drinks My blood has
(possesses now) eternal life.
Joh 4:14 But whoever takes a
drink of the water that I will
give him shall never, no never,
be thirsty any more. But the
water that I will give him shall
become a spring of water
welling up (flowing, bubbling)
[continually] within him unto
(into, for) eternal life.
It (aiṓnios) does not focus on the
future per se, but rather on the quality of
the age (165 /aiṓn) it relates to. Thus
believers live in "eternal (166 /aiṓnios)
life" right now, experiencing this quality of
God's life now as a present possession. 
John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who
does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on
him."

John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes
in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment,
but has passed from death into life.

John 6:47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has

everlasting life.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Life is one of John’s characteristic concepts. He uses
the term 36 times, whereas no other New Testament
writing has it more than 17 times…. Thus in this one
writing there occur more than a quarter of all the
New Testament references to life. “Life” in John
characteristically refers to eternal life…the gift of God
through His Son…. It is only because there is life in
the Logos [ John 1:1-18]
 Definition of eternal life what we
thought is something that happens
after we die.
John 17 :3 (NIV)  Now this is eternal
life: that they may know you, the
only true God, and Jesus Christ,
whom you have sent.
That which was from the beginning, which we have
heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we
have looked at and our hands have touched this we
proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life
appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we
proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with
the Father and has appeared to us (1 John 1:1-2).
"And this is the testimony: God
has given us eternal life, and
this life is in his Son"
(1 John 5:11).
Rom 6:23 For the wages

[bountiful] free gift of God is
eternal life through (in union
with) Jesus Christ our Lord.
Eternal life is a relationship
with the triune God
Eternal life is not about going
somewhere, it’s about knowing
Someone. It’s not about  living in
a place; it’s about living in a Person.
It’s about intimate connection and
unending, deepening relationships
with God and with each other…here,
now…and ever onward.
In other words, it is as if we are so standing inside
heaven’s Trinity that Jesus said the Father loves
us the same profound way that he loves the Son
(John 17:23). The way the Spirit honors the
Father is how the Spirit honors you. The delight
the Son has for the Father is the same delight he
has for you! Take a moment to imagine that
truth!"
Within the triune Godhead, we see
a Father and Son’s mutual devotion and
unbroken fellowship with the Holy Spirit
from before creation (John 1:1; 17:24
). This means that God is about
relationship in love before anything else.
That shouldn’t be too hard for us to
understand since we’re wired that way,
too.
Joh 1:4 In Him was Life, and
the Life was the Light of men.
The ETERNAL LIFE is the RELATIONSHIP that
FATHER, SON, and SPIRIT enjoyed and which we
NOW, have been brought into. This is what God wants
us to KNOW by experience PHYSICALLY in THIS LIFE,
and SPIRITUALLY in THIS LIFE which extends
forever.  This is eternal life, that you may KNOW him,
the one true God and Jesus Christ he has sent. Our
belief is the means of us growing in knowing him and
experiencing the exact communion that Father, Son
and Spirit have always known. 
 This is eternal life
knowing the Father,
the only true God and
knowing Jesus Christ,
Whom he sent that is
Eternal Life.
 Whatever we might understand “eternal
life” to be, John the narrator, wants us to
think of it in relational terms. Forget
duration of time or quality of life for a
moment and think with John of eternal life
relationally. Eternal life is not knowing
information, or even having the correct
belief system, as good as either of those
things may be. Eternal life is found in
knowing someone.
 Eternal life is knowing God,
not just information about
God. It is knowing Him, which
is, being in relationship with
Him. Eternal life is the
relationship. If you are in
relationship with God, then
you have eternal life.
The Real purpose of Salvation is not the
living forever in heaven, as great as that
will be. The real purpose of Salvation is to
have intimacy a personal relationship with
the Lord God. There are multitudes of
People who have cried out to God for the
forgiveness of their sins but have never
had intimacy with God as a Goal
But this statement also brings into focus the
root of humanity’s problem.
Our problem is: We don’t know God.

Jesus Comes to solve the root problem

By not explaining the real purpose of salvation we
are doing a disserve to the Gospel,
When we present salvation as something as
something that deals with just spiritual things that
will only benefit us in the future, in eternity, we
are not helping people. There are some people
who are living in such a literal hell right now on
earth; many are depressed living in poverty,
dealing with strife, rejection, hurt & failed
marriage.
Present , Now , Today
Galatians 1:4 who gave Himself for
our sins, that He might deliver us
from this present evil age, according
to the will of our God and Father,
 Theosis
is the process of a worshiper becoming free
of hamartía ("missing the mark"), being
united with God, Theosis
(see 2 Pet. 1:4) is salvation. Theosis assumes
that humans from the beginning are made to
share in the Life or Nature of the all-
Holy Trinity
For He is Life! And in knowing him we
come to share in his life that he shares
with the Father and the Spirit, which is
eternal life.

by which have been given to us
exceedingly great and precious
promises, that through these you
may be partakers of the divine
nature.
  Participation in the Life 
 John 10:10
(AMP)  The thief comes only
in order to steal and kill and
destroy. I came that they may
have and enjoy life, and have
it in abundance (to the full, till
it overflows).
