THE BASICS
A Stretch Ceiling is a suspended ceiling system consisting of two basic components – a
perimeter track and lightweight fabric membrane which stretches and clips into the track.
In addition to ceilings the system can be used for wall coverings, light diffusers, floating
panels, exhibitions and creative shapes.
Stretch Ceilings allow the incorporation of all types of light fixtures, grilles and fixing points
by the use of a proprietary background support. Nearly all types of apertures can be
incorporated.
1. Great acoustical and heat insulation properties of stretch ceiling eliminates acoustic effects
and creates an additional heat and sound insulation due to air gap between the main ceiling and
the stretched material.
2. A pallet of 200 colors and textures including translucent and reflective membranes, provides
possibilities for many effects including visual increase of the height of a room or illuminating
ceiling.
3. Clean and fast installation process - installation of stretch ceiling will take no longer than
several hours. There is no need to remove furniture because the process is clean and does not
involve any potential damage to furniture. There will be no dust or trash during the ceiling
installation process.
4. Safety - stretch ceiling material does not contain any harmful components, is odorless, non-
flammable, and hypoallergenic. Stretch ceilings can be installed in hospitals or kindergartens.
5. Water resistant. In case of leakage of pipes, roof or AC a stretch ceiling material will
accumulate water and prevent damage of valuable items.
6. Stretch ceilings do not accumulate static electricity and therefore no dust is accumulating on
the surface. It is sufficient to wipe canvas with damp cloth every couple of years to bring back the
original shine. Our ceilings do not deform and preserve its color.
7. Durability - stretch ceiling serves for at least 15 years, eliminating need for periodic plastering
of ceiling cracks.
8. Reinstallation - color and texture of the ceiling may be changed by removing old
material and installing a new one on the same frame.
9. Stretch Ceilings in Dubai can be installed over existing ceiling (you don't need to
remove drywall or other ceiling material).
10. Stretch ceilings are made of special PVC pellicle. Though it is only 0.18 to 0.2 mm
thick, the pellicle is very strong and can withstand the pressure of up to 100 kg/m2.
Furthermore the ceiling pellicle is light in weight (200-230 g/m2) and can withstand
vast temperature changes. It is produced in form of rolls and comes in a variety of
width (depending on manufacturer). Our company uses pellicle of highest quality.
FABRIC
• The fabric material is a 0.2mm thick PVC based, fully recyclable, Stretch Membrane which
comes in a vast array of colours and finishes which include Matt, Satin, High Gloss Lacquer,
Perforated and Translucent.
• The material can be printed or painted for additional effects and is entirely waterproof,
washable and impermeable to vapour. The material is also maintenance free, hygienic, non-
toxic and is fire rated to euro class standards.
• The lightweight sheets are purpose made from roll materials to form any shape and size,
typically up to 50 square metres in one piece. Each panel incorporates an ultrasonically
welded ‘Harpoon Edge’ which clips into the track.
INSTALLATION METHOD
Stretch ceiling or decorative wall panel does not require extensive installation effort. The only
preparation requirement that it applies to the house structure is that walls, ceiling or roof, and
electrical wiring has to be finished before installation starts. The post-installation cleaning is not
required, as stretch ceiling does not use adhesive materials, cement, paint etc. The process of
installing the stretch ceiling products is streamlined and simple. The stretch ceiling membranes
are usually extended by ~4% during the installation process. This guarantees that the membrane
will remain flat and will not sag.
STEPS OF INSTALLATION ARE AS FOLLOWS :
1. CHOOSE YOUR FABRIC : what fabric and colour do you want? Gloss, satin or matt finish?
Translucent or shaped? Or perhaps you want to print your favourite image or company logo
on your ceiling? There are so many options to choose from.
2. PREPARE THE ROOM : The room does not need to be completely cleared. You might need
to make a bit of space but apart from that no preparation of the room is required. You can
more or less start the install instantly!
3. ATTACH ALLUMINIUM TRACK : Your stretch ceiling is attached to your room via an
aluminium track which is fitted to all four walls. If the ceiling is to cover a large space,
aluminium tracks will need to be fitted at intervals across the ceiling to join panels of fabric.
4. SET LIGHT FIXTURES AND OTHER SYSTEMS ABOVE THE CEILING : Attach platforms for light
fixtures or other systems (e.g. smoke alarms) to the original ceiling. Adjust the height of the
platform so it is easy to pull relevant fixtures like lights though the ceiling and fit in place.
5. HEAT THE ROOM : In order to stretch the ceiling fabric into place you need to use heat to
increase its elasticity. We do this using portable gas heaters.
6. ATTACH THE CEILING : once the fabric has reached optimum elasticity it is fitted to
the aluminum rack, corners first.
7. PULL THROUGH FIXTURES AND FITTINGS : strengthening rings are glued to the
canvas and then cut inside to make holes for light fixtures and other systems.
Fixtures are connected to cables, pulled through the holes and then the springs
to the fixtures platform above the canvas are engaged.
8. FINAL CLEANING : Any handprints or marks on the ceiling canvas are removed with a damp cloth. Your
stretch ceiling is now installed!

approx. 30sqm of Black Lacquer, mirror effect sheet.
Working together with the architects from a very early stage, they were able to perfectly match
the curved teardrop shape design by following the curves of the pool with their track and sheet
to create this eye-catching feature. The lacquer material helps to add extra dimension and the
illusion of height ton any space whilst the stretch membrane itself achieves a vapour barrier and
assists with the acoustic comfort, therefore making an ideal solution for a swimming pool
environment.
