Advantages of Four-wire Independent Ignition Coil

There is IGBT module inside, which

can realize soft shutdown function, over-
current protection, etc.
When ECU sends a wrong signal, the
coil can automatically identify, cut off the
power supply circuit, protect IGBT
module and coil, and in this process, no
misignition will occur, so as to achieve
the effect of soft shutdown.

Difference between EURO VI B and EURO VI

• The test procedure for type I test was modified and use the Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test
Procedure (WLTP);
• The type II test was changed to RDE test, and the type IV test was modified;
• Add control requirements for diesel vehicle and NOx in type VI test;
• The requirements for pollutant emission test while refueling are added, and the emission limit values of
various pollutants are more strict;
• The test requirements for the effective volume and initial working capacity of canister are added;
• The test requirements of catalytic converter carrier volume, total precious metal content and precious
metal proportion are added;
• The judgment method of production conformity inspection is corrected, and the requirements of
production conformity inspection for catalytic converter and canister are added;
• The inspection requirements for the pollutants emission during evaporation and refueling are added to
vehicle conformity;
• The confirmation and inspection of type inspection sample vehicle are added;
• The technical requirements of OBD and reference fuel for test are modified.

Difference between EURO VI B and EURO V

 Different test cycles: comprehensively assess the

emission under cold start, acceleration and
deceleration, and high-speed.
 Do not allow any pollutants from the crankcase
ventilation system to enter the atmosphere.
 The limit value requirements are more stringent: 40%
- 50% more stringent, and the limit value
requirements for diesel vehicles are the same.
 New measurement requirements: measurement
requirements for gasoline emission particles are
added.
 It is required to measure the desorption flow and
volume of the canister every second.
 When refueling, the vapor in fuel tank can only be
discharged from the canister. Limit value for EURO V:
1.5 g/L, limit value for EURO VI B: 0.05 g/L.

Comparison of Limit Values for EURO V and EURO VI B (Type 1 Vehicle)

Major changes:
• The limit value of N₂O pollutant is added.
• The PN limit value of gasoline vehicles is added. Before July 1, 2020, the PN limit
value of gasoline vehicles is applicable to the transition limit value of 6.0 × 10 ¹²/km.
• The limit values of gasoline vehicles and diesel vehicles are the same.
• The EURO VI B limit values are greatly reduced.

Diagnosis Principle of Fuel Tank Evaporation Leakage

After closing the canister close valve, draw a certain negative pressure in fuel tank through the vacuum degree of intake manifold. If the negative

pressure cannot be established, it is considered that there is a large leakage, i.e. a coarse leakage. Then close the canister solenoid valve, and form a

closed space between the pipeline behind canister solenoid valve and the fuel tank. When there are holes and no holes, the attenuation gradient of

vacuum degree in this closed space is different, so it can be judged whether there is leakage.

Canister Desorption Line

The vehicle of EURO VI B supercharger engine is equipped with two canister desorption lines, one of which is
connected with the intake manifold via canister solenoid valve, i.e. low load desorption line. The other desorption line
is connected to the intake line of supercharger through the canister solenoid valve, i.e. high load desorption line. There
is only one desorption line on EURO V engine.

Operation

   Venturi effect is adopted in

the venturi tube. The principle of
venturi tube is to change the air
flow from coarse to fine, so as to
speed up the air flow rate and
form a "vacuum" area behind the
venturi tube outlet. This vacuum
area has a certain adsorption to
outside.

Turn power switch from IGN to OFF, system will perform steering column
locking operation according to vehicle speed, power supply state and door
opened/closed information.

Unlocking
When pressing ENGINE START STOP switch with the smart key left in
vehicle, steering column lock will be unlocked while power supply state is turned
1 to ACC.

Caution
In some conditions, such as vehicle is parked on slope, locking pin may be
stuck. At this time:
1. The system will try to unlock 3 times within 3 seconds;
2. If steering column lock has not been successfully unlocked, perform
related operation according to message “Please press ENGINE START STOP
switch, restart power supply” and “Please press ENGINE START STOP switch
and turn steering wheel to unlock steering column lock”.

PE Unlocking Operation Method

Operation Method The following conditions will cause PE to
be unavailable

 Fully touch unlocking sensing area with four fingers to

 When the doors are locked by central lock while
ensure that the sensing area is covered completely
 Time of finger touches unlocking sensing area > 12 ms wireless key is in vehicle.

 When the doors are locked by mechanical key while

wireless key is in vehicle.

 Unlock operation cannot be performed within 3

seconds after doors are locked by PE method (The
purpose of this function is to make user to check the
status of lock by pulling the door handle).

 When locking is performed with remote controller and

remote controller is detected in vehicle.

 Door handle sensing is capacitance sensing. When the fingers touch the sensing area, door
handle sensing capacitance changes and triggers the key search process.
 Low frequency antenna and key are authenticated through radio communication.

Conditions of Door Handle Unlocking and Locking Failure

Short or open circuit in door handle antenna:
 Both unlocking and locking functions of the open circuited or short circuited door
handle will fail, PEPS will record DTC at this time.
 After troubleshooting, it is required to perform unlocking and locking operations
with wireless key, and then the function will return to normal.

There is water, dirt, ice or snow at door handle sensing area:

 Capacitive noise generated by water, dirt, ice and snow will cause interference to
capacitance detection of door handle antenna
 Wipe handle clean and wait for about 15s, the function will return to normal
automatically

Door handle is continuously impacted by raindrops in rainy days:

 Under the impact of raindrops, the door handle sensing capacitance will continue
to sense the capacitance changes
 When the raindrop impact disappears, the function will return to normal
automatically after 3.5 minutes

Electromagnetic interference or shield:

 Radio communication will be interfered by the same frequency and will be affected
04 by shielding effect
 Keep away from the interference source and eliminate shields, then the function
will return to normal automatically

Task:
1. Describe the difference between PEPS and non-PEPS processes for adding new
keys.

2. PEPS system may fail to match when adding the old key, but the new key can
be matched. Describe the reason.

3. For PEPS (auto) immobilizer system, there is a data writing function in

diagnostic tester. Describe the conditions in which this function is required.

4. How to configure ESCL for the following conditions, please list the operation
flow respectively.
1. Replace the PEPS with a new one and ESCL is in locked status.
2. Install the ESCL on the test drive vehicle to malfunctioning vehicle and
perform test.
3. Install a used ESCL (removed part) to malfunctioning vehicle.
