As the population ages, societies will face increasing challenges in caring for the elderly. There will be a higher prevalence of age-related diseases, requiring more medical facilities. Long-term care facilities will also be needed as more elderly lose independence. These changes will increase the costs of running medical and long-term care facilities. Children may also struggle with caring for aging family members, as traditional family support systems change.

As people are living longer, the larger number of elderly


people is bringing about various societal changes. There is a
higher need to care for people with age-related disease such
as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and cancer. As elderly
people cannot care for themselves, long-term care options
must be made available.

In my culture it is traditional for family to care for elders. It will be a big
adjustment to settle my aging parents in a long-term facility. The cost may
also be a problem.

If you are healthy enough to take care of your parents then surely that is the
best case scenario that can happen, worse is that you are not healthy
enough to still have your children or even you can hire a maid, a nurse to
take care of your family.
