Science, technology, and society are deeply interconnected. Scientific and technological developments affect society and the environment in various ways. As science and technology advance, they drive industrialization and urbanization by meeting basic human needs. People's lives and lifestyles change with improved science and technology as they desire more material goods. Advances also lead to more discoveries and inventions that benefit society. Examples of recent technological growth include the rise of financial technology and innovations that save time and improve communication and learning. However, technology can also distract people and be misused for destructive purposes, isolating some from society.
