7 Steps in Effective Questionnaire Design

The document provides guidance on designing effective questionnaires. It discusses identifying the necessary data and information, determining appropriate question formats and wording, sequencing questions logically, and pre-testing the questionnaire. Key steps in the process include identifying the research objective, determining the needed data, choosing a data collection method, designing the question type and format, drafting the question wording and language, ordering the questions logically, and finalizing after pre-testing. Considerations for an effective questionnaire include using simple, unambiguous wording; avoiding leading, loaded or double-barreled questions; and structuring questions and responses clearly.

 Finalization after Pre-test

Data / Information

 For each piece of information listed ,

ask:
 Is it needed? Why is it needed ?
 Can you do without it?
 Is it sufficient?

Is it available with the respondent?
