Value Clarification in Education

Values clarification is an educational process where students identify their underlying value priorities that guide interests, choices, and reactions. It aims to help students become aware of their own values, communicate openly about values, use rational thinking to examine feelings and behavior, resolve contradictions from culture, and help teachers understand student meaning-making. Common strategies include role playing, small group discussions, case studies, ranking activities, and games/simulations.
