Kodak: Rise, Fall, and Lessons Learned

Kodak was founded in 1888 and rose to dominate the photography industry, commanding over two-thirds of the global market share by the mid-20th century using a "razors and blades" business model. However, Kodak failed to adapt to the transition to digital photography in the late 20th century, clinging to traditional film. As digital cameras became popular, Kodak filed for bankruptcy in 2012 as its business model became obsolete. While Kodak invented the first digital camera in 1975, it focused on film and waited too long to widely produce digital cameras and services. This lack of vision for customers' changing needs ultimately led to Kodak's decline as a photography giant.
