situations.

• Etsy allows company owners to create their custom website on which to market their products to
consumers.

• eBay features two types of product listings: fixed-price items and auction items.

• Tokopedia, one of Indonesia's largest online marketplaces. Tokopedia is a C2C retailer that provides
a platform on which entrepreneurs can open small and midsize C2C enterprises (SME) for free.

• OLX is a very popular platform in India that is used by mllions to buy and sell used products. The
interface is simple and easy to use.

REVENUE AND GROWTH OF C2C MARKET.

• C2C websites and similar platforms make money from fees charged to sellers for listing items for sale,
adding on promotional features, and facilitating credit card transactions. Example – EBay , OLX.
 
• C2C market is projected to grow in the future because of its cost-effectiveness. The cost of using third
parties is declining, and the number of products for sale by consumers is steadily rising.

• The C2C e-commerce market in India is currently pegged at around $9 billion and expected to record a
CAGR of 60-70% by 2022, according to research and consultancy firm Zinnov. The C2C model of e-
commerce is a business model where customers can trade with each others. It is expected to reach a size of
$48-60 billion by 2022 and it would constitute 5.4% share of the Indian retail market.
 
• However, C2C has problems such as a lack of quality control or payment guarantees. In some cases, there is
little support for credit card transactions, although the emergence of PayPal and other such payment
systems over the years has helped simplify payments on C2C platforms

CONCLUSION

EBay has changed the landscape of micro auction from customers to customers. Revenue
model of eBay beneficial for both seller and user as the seller pay a minimal fee to list their
product and when they are sold a transaction fee is collected. This satisfy sellers as they
don’t mind to pay 5 to 10 percent of sales revenue to eBay.
