Student’s Prayer
Lord our God, in your
wisdom and love you
surround us with the
mysteries of the universe
Send your spirits upon
us students and fill us
with your wisdom and
blessings.
Grant that we may
devote ourselves to our
studies and draw ever
closer to you the source
of all knowledge.
We ask this through
Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Objective Setting
1. Define what is a resistor.
2. Determine the correct value of
each color band in finding
resistor’s resistance value and
tolerance
3. Calculate the resistance value
of a resistor through color
coding and
4. Develop a good attitude in
determining the resistance
value and tolerance of a resistor
through color coding.
What is Resistor?
It is a circuit component that
resist (limits) the flow of
electrons in an electrical
circuit.
What is Resistor?
The unit of measure for
resistance is the ohm, which is
represented by the Greek
letter Ω.
Different types of a Resistor
 wire wound resistor,
 carbon composition resistor,
 carbon film resistor,
 variable resistor,
 metal oxide resistor and
 metal film resistor.
