Eye protection:

Eye protection in the form of Safety spectacles, goggles and face shields is very essential to shield the eyes
against liquid or chemical splash, irritating mist, vapors, welding fumes, non-ionizing radiation, flying
fragments, objects, large chips & particles and protection against hazardous substances.
It must be carefully selected with reference to relevant standards.

3 Goggle for painting work ANSI Z87.1-2015 / EN 168:2002

4 Face Shield EN166:2002

Work activities should be assessed to identify such hazards, then the level of risk estimated to allow the correct
type of protection to be selected. The risk assessment should include both the directly involved and other
person who may be at risk.
Factors affecting the choice of type of protection:
Spectacles – Fitted with side pieces (used for radiation and solid projectiles).
Goggles – Provide full eye enclosure (Complete protection from all the potential hazards due to radiation,
projectiles and liquids).
Face shield/visors – Provide eye and face protection (used for welding and handling harmful chemicals).
