Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
 It is a measurable value that demonstrates how
effectively a company is achieving key business
objectives.
 Despite of its importance, it is a surprise about how
few organizations actually articulate their strategic
direction in a clear, codified manner.
High level KPIs, e.g. Market share, working capital etc

Low level KPIs, e.g. individual department targets of

HR, Marketing etc.
Exercise #1: Assign Percentages to the
KPIs
What is Balanced Scorecard?
 A balanced scorecard is a strategy performance
management tool –

 A semi-standard structured report, that can be

used by managers to keep track of the execution
of activities by the staff within their control
 And to monitor the consequences arising from
these actions.
All Activities Are Accounted For
Coca-Cola Company Balanced Scorecard is further discussed below in four perspective namely
financial, customer, internal and learning.

Financial: Measures that customer, creditors and other stakeholders use to evaluate financial
performance (revenue and surplus growth).

Internal: Measures that management uses to evaluate efficiency of existing business processes
(technology and market share).

Learning and growth: Measures that management uses to evaluate effectiveness of employee training
(employee training and compensation)

System Problems and Improvements

The selection process is the basis of employing right person on the right job. Selection test must
be designed properly involving the best attributes of the four or best suitable combination from
Cognitive, Motor, Personality & Achievement tests. Selection test in Coca-Cola includes critical
degree related, personality & Psychology Test & prefer 18 years of education to apply for job not
less than this.
Recommendations:

The Criteria of selecting only high-profile universities graduates must be changed as

Coca-Cola says it practices equality in providing job opportunities so they should also
give job opportunities to other University Graduates. As equal employment opportunity is
the right of everyone. All other companies offer job after 16 year of studies but Coca-
Cola after 18 years of studies. They must change the criteria of selection.
