Four Skills
Reading
• Coherence means the connection of ideas at
the idea level (e.g. thesis statement
development, organizing and clarifying ideas).
• Cohesion means the connection of ideas at
the sentence level. The cohesion of writing
focuses on the “grammatical” aspects of
writing.
