Vendor Rating Methods and Case Study

Vendor rating is a process to evaluate and rank suppliers based on various factors such as quality, delivery, price, and more. It provides a standardized way to assess vendors and give feedback to help improve performance. Some common methods of vendor rating include categorical, weighted point, and cost ratio analyses. Vendor rating systems aim to minimize subjectivity, ensure quality in the supply chain, and help optimize overall business operations. A case study of Bizrate.com showed how it pioneered online vendor ratings and research, growing to become a top 10 shopping site through customer surveys and commissions from referrals.
