The way that we contact the school manager:
What is the leadership?

When the person manage things around

her/him. Leadership influences people in good
way to get a better results.

Leadership lead to successes

How is the curriculum obtained?

The school is following the MOE

curriculum as it is a government
school.

How is the curriculum

distributed?

Based on MOE curriculum policy.

Each subject has a textbook,
assessment policy and pacing chart so
that teachers have a clear pathway on
what they should finish, and when
they need to finish it, and how it will
be assessed.
Does the school have a
special curriculum for people
of determination?
•People of determination follow a different plan. They are
classified into 2 groups: either adapted curriculum or
modified curriculum. Adapted curriculum for those who
have mild learning difficulties and need their lesson
objectives to be simpler. They follow the same curriculum
as their peers, but with limited objectives and simpler
ones.

•The other plan is the modified curriculum, and it is

designed for those who have severe disabilities or
learning difficulties. Students who follow the modified
plan, have different objectives than people at their age
depending on their cognitive level. For both groups, class
teachers set clear long- and short-term goals and
objectives that are then followed up by the SEN teachers.
Does the school have training for teacher?

All teachers should take the professional

development courses provided by the MOE. At
the same time, the school also examine the
needs of the teachers (especially the new ones)
and enhance their teaching practices by
several training designed and presented
internally in the school.

How the school's information record

keeping?

After covid-19 and shifting to the online

learning, all records related to school plan,
teaching and learning practices are kept in
Microsoft TEAMS. Already the MOE have a
special platform to keep a record of employees
and students, which is AL Manhal as well.
What are the rules used to
discipline students?
•Again, the school follows the MOE behavior
policy, that was modified also during distant
learning. There are clear expectations and
consequences, that is gradual from verbal notice
to behavior mark deduction and would reach to
school dismissal in developed cases. It is also
important to mention that students earn 80
marks for positive behavior and 20 marks for
distinguished behavior, which both are calculated
together to form the student behavior mark at
the end of the year.
How the students guided
of choosing a future job?

•There is a designated career advisor in the school ( 2 in

our school) to provide all the support for students starting
from grade 8 ( to orient students to choose the suitable
stream they want to proceed with), and then they plan
several workshops throughout the year to prepare them
for post-graduation such as writing a CV, doing interviews,
and enhancing their skills. For grade 12 students, they are
supported to register in University and choose their major.
As a school principal,
what kind of leadership in
your personality?

•I think I blind several leadership

approaches based on the situation,
but mainly I follow more of
distributed and servant leadership
approaches. I listen to my teachers
and try my best to support their
needs. Because there are so many
responsibilities, I support leadership
among my team and assign
leadership roles for teachers as well.
All teachers are part of different
committees that work integrally to
Through this question I consider the principal a collegial
support students learning. participative leadership style: because in her answer she
mentioned that she helped and support her stuff.
In your opinion, as a school principal, what
kind of style is the school followed?

•Again, I think a more of

distributed leadership style. Both
principal and vice principal
provides directions (based on MOE
regulations) and ensure that the
whole school-teachers are aligned
with the vision and decisions
taken. The principal delegates
responsibilities among not only
lead teachers, but also include
other teachers, staff members and
administrators.
In the event that any school-
related decision is taken, is it
approved by majority vote or
debate with everyone's approval?

•Any internal decision is discussed during

the leadership meeting ( which is held on
a weekly basis). The leadership team
includes the principal, vice principal and
lead teachers. Once the decision is taken,
lead teachers inform their departments
and action is taken. For sure, any decision
is up to be modified after implementation
based on the feedback and the result.
•Collegial: Participative Leadership as
Bush (2003) mentioned that this type of
leadership focus on the decision-making
process.
Can you mention the decisions
that need a period of time to
make?
•I thinks that school decisions need to made quickly, but the
effect or influence of the decision may take time to be
determined. For example, we made a decision to implement
action research, which would require a long time to be
implemented and carried. Once its done, we may examine
the implications of it. Another decision is opening 3
academies for grade 9, we are still not sure how things
would go, and its still early to have a clear pathway of how
they will influence students’ learning.
How are the related decisions taken in the event of a
new employee? How is the new employee monitored?

•New school are allocated to the schools

by the MOE human resources section. If
a new teacher is assigned to the school,
she is introduced to her lead teacher,
and then she is informed about her
classes and teaching load and ensure
that she settled. Both lead teacher,
principal and vice principal start several
walkthroughs, diagnostic visits and
informal observations to determine her
teaching practices and support she
would need in the classroom. If the
teacher has serious issues related to her
practices, an individual plan is made, and
a report would be sent to the MOE.
In the event of
personal differences
between teachers, is
the work distributed
to everyone and put
these differences on
the other side?

•For sure, personal differences are part of human nature. As professionals, we

all interact with each other with personal issues aside. Teaching and
administrative responsibilities are assigned equally based on each one
responsibilities. At the same, they are enjoying all their rights. If a conflict
took place, the issue is raised professionally to a decision maker from the
leadership team to be resolved.
•Teachers’ appraisal is based on a specified criteria that teachers are aware of. They finish
How are teachers a self-assessment for their appraisal and set 3 targets to improve. Once the principal
evaluate the teacher consider the previous year evaluation, professional growth goals,

evaluated?
and current year achievement. Also, the principal set an interview, especially new
teachers, to discuss their achievements. If the teacher is not satisfied with the evaluation,
she can discuss that and send all her evidences that prove her achievements.
Participative Leadership
• “Style of leadership in which all members of the organization work together to make decisions” (What Is Participative
Leadership, 2020).
• As everyone is encouraged to participate, it is also known as democratic leadership.
• Teachers are encouraged to
exchange experiences and
views, even though the
leader has the ultimate say
on decisions.
• “Members of the group feel
more engaged in the
process”.
• “Creativity is encouraged
and rewarded”.
