Cat Coat Color Inheritance Explained

A black cat was crossed with a white cat and all the offspring in the F1 generation had black coats. The color of a cat's coat is controlled by a single pair of alleles - B for black and b for white. Crossing a black cat with one allele for black (B_) with a white cat with two alleles for white (bb) results in all black offspring in the F1 generation with one of each allele (Bb).
