Overview of Exogenic Processes

Exogenic processes are those originating from the Earth's surface and are driven by solar energy. There are four main types: weathering, erosion, mass movement, and deposition. Weathering breaks down rocks through physical and chemical processes. Erosion transports eroded materials from one location to another via water, wind, ice, or gravity. Mass movement involves the downhill movement of materials under gravitational force, such as landslides. Deposition occurs when transported materials are deposited in a new location when the agent of erosion can no longer carry them.

change in structure,
soften and easily
crumble.

action of gravity.
