 In the practical world of business or government, a report
conveys information and (sometimes) recommendations
from a researcher who has investigated a topic in detail.

 A report like this will usually be requested by people who


need the information for a specific purpose and their
request may be written in terms of reference or the brief.
Whatever the report, it is important to look at the
instructions for what is wanted.

Before you write a single word you must:


 Set your objective.
 Assess your readership.
 Decide what information you will need.
 Prepare your skeletal framework.
 Test and revise your skeletal framework

 Stage one: Framing the issues and planning
 Stage two: Information gathering (Researching
the Project)
 Stage three: Analyzing the information
 Stage four: Writing the Report.

 Briefly, the sources you use will be determined by the
aims and scope of your report.
 You may gather data yourself, for example through
carrying out interviews, Questionnaires, observations.

 You will also be looking for relevant
secondary data, information that someone else
has gathered or produced and that you will
find in, for e.g., books, journals, newspapers,
and other reports.
 Ensure that the information you use is relevant
and that you always reference its source.

 Field Report is the end product of the entire
process of Filed Visit.
 This is the outcome, which will be evaluated and
awarded marks by the examiners.
 The report should be well-organized piece of
written work.
 It should be well formatted and organized in the
main three chapters.
 The report should be written in about 3000 words.

 Chapter-2: Presentation and Analysis of
Data
 Chapter-3: Summary and Conclusion

Analysis of Data
 Presentation of Data /Figures in tables, charts,
graphs etc.
 Analysis of Data figure by using some tools
(e.g accounting, financial and statistical tools)
 Major Findings
Chapter -3: Summary and
Conclusion
 A brief Summary of the report
 Major conclusions derived from the analysis of
data.
 Suggestions (if any: i.e. Recommendation)
Presentation Activities
 The report should be properly Computer-typed,
bound and submitted to College in three copies.
 The student should individually present their
reports in the seminar organized by the college on
the fixed date.
 Students can use Multi-media projector or
Overhead Projector for Presentation.
 The Student should be confident and effective in
their presentation
