Behavioral Approaches in Psychology

Behavioral approaches originated in the 1950s-1960s and focus on demonstrating behavioral conditioning techniques. They vary from other theories like psychoanalysis. Behavioral approaches are applied in areas like anxiety disorders, depression, education, sports psychology, and business. They draw from four key developments: classical conditioning, operant conditioning, social learning theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy. The approaches aim to promote behavioral change by surrounding individuals with positive reinforcement to shape good behaviors.
