Trouser Line Optimization Proposal

This document summarizes information about Raymond's trouser production line. It includes that there are 69 machines and workstations in each line manned by 76 operators performing 69 operations. Problems observed include absenteeism, excessive talking, belt loops getting entangled, and outdated performance tracking boards. Proposed solutions include organizing hangers by color-coded size, restricting operator movement, rolling belt loops to prevent entanglement, and changing the layout to decrease material movement. The key project is to change the machine layout to decrease material movement in the trouser production line.

PROBLEMS OBSERVED IN TROUSER
LINE
•Absenteeism of workers

•Excessive talking of the operators

•Belt loops come entangled to the stitching area.

•Skill matrix board is not updated

•Performance matric boards are not updated.

• Material movement

•Work delay due to machine breakdown , thread breakage

and when bobin thread ends.
SOLUTIONS
1.) The hangers can be put in different colors showing
different Sizes
2.)The operators should not be allowed to roam in the aisle
space so that the space is less crowded.
3.)The prepared belt loop should be rolled around a cylinder
to avoid entanglement.
4.) Change in layout to decrease material movement.
PROJECT: TO CHANGE THE MACHINE LAYOUT
TO DECREASE MATERIAL MOVEMENT
