What it’s the Explanation text?
An Explanation text is a kind of text
which tells or explanation processes relation
to forming of natural or social phenomena or
how something works. It is to say why and
how of the foaming of phenomena.
Explanation texts are factual genres. As a
genre, explanations detail and logically
describe the stage in a naturel, social, or
technologicas phenomenon of our world. In
conclusion, explanation texts combine how
and why.
Social function of explanation text is:
• To tell why and how of the forming
of the phenomena.
• To explain why things are as they are
and how they are formed or made
Social function • To explaain the processes involved in
the evolution of natural and social
of explanation phenomenon or how some things
works

events, or behavior.
The types of explanation text
They are two types of explanation text:
1. Sequential explanation (how something
works/occurs)
Expanation that describe natural and non
natural phenomenal, for example life cycle.
2. Cause and effect explanation (why something
occurs)
Explanation text thet links cause and
effect in explaining how and why an event
occured, for example volcanoes.
General structure of explanation text
• General statement(introduction)
tell about the phenomenon issue which is
to be explained, introduction the topic. The
process being explained may be hightlighted
in a little or in the the first sentence or stage.
• A sequenced explanation of the stage.
it consists of sequenced explanation of
why or how something , or a series of
chronological steps which explain how or why
something happens.
Language features
The language feature of explanation text is:
• Focus on generic,non human parcipants or
things
• Use of abstract nouns, for ex heat,earthquake,
tsunami
• Use a simple present tense
• Use of temporal and causal conjunctions
• Use of passive voice
• Use of action verbs to explain cause
• Use of noun phrase
• Use of complex sentences
• Use of technical terms or words chains about a
subject

Global warming
* A general statement
Global warming is an increase in the temperature
of Global warming the earth’s surface and are the result of
the green house effect. The green house effect is a term to
define trapped carbon dioxide which causes the earth to
the heat. Then, the global warming will much more and
the climate on the earth will continue to be hotter. You
certainly feel that the current temperatures on earth are
so hot during the day. Then, we all must be thinking that
there is a problem with the climate change where
everything becomes unpredictable. The season that occurs
in our earth cannot be predicted anymore as happened a
few years ago. You need to know that those irregularities
are caused by global warming.
*A sequenced explanation of the stage
In detail, the global warming caused by human
activity. Today, there are so many factories are built. It
means that they are going to produce carbon dioxide as
their waste. When they are built more and more, then the
more carbon dioxide is produced. Meanwhile, plant is the
only element that can absorb the carbon dioxide and then
convert it into oxygen. However, the plants that are on the
earth continue to decrease due to illegal logging, forest
fires, and the diversion of forest as a place of human
lodging area. All of those makes the number of plants
continue to decrease and are not able to absorb all the
carbon dioxide maximally. As a result, carbon dioxide
trapped in the earth and makes our earth becomes hotter.
One of the visible effects of global warming is the polar ice
continues to melt so they can flood the coast line in the
entire world.
There are various things you can do to
combat the global warming. First, planting at
least one tree on your yard. When one home
has one tree, then from 1000 homes, there
will be 1000 trees. It was almost the same as
a large forest area. Then, the tree that you
plant in the yard, can make your home
comfortable and cool. Therefore, soon after
you are read this article, then plant any tree
in front of your house and do not cut down
the trees carelessly.
Second, you are advised to reduce the
use of private vehicles. Of course you know
that vehicles produce carbon dioxide. A
growing number of private vehicles, makes the
carbon dioxide is produced much more than
before. Meanwhile, carbon dioxide is the main
cause of global warming. It requires us to use
public transport instead of private vehicles so
that the number of private vehicles using can
be reduced. Third, you should use a home
ventilation rather than air conditioning. When
you use the air conditioning, then there will be
a CFC gas and it makes global warming
intensity increases. Use the adequate
ventilation, then planting a few trees in your
yard, so it will make your house cooler.

Meaning:
Pemanasan global adalah peningkatan suhu
permukaan bumi dan merupakan akibat dari efek
rumah kaca. Efek rumah kaca adalah istilah untuk
mendefinisikan karbon dioksida terperangkap yang
menyebabkan bumi menjadi panas. Kemudian,
pemanasan global akan jauh lebih banyak dan iklim
di bumi akan terus semakin panas. Anda tentu
merasa bahwa suhu saat ini di bumi sangat panas
di siang hari. Kemudian, kita semua harus berpikir
bahwa ada masalah dengan perubahan iklim di
mana semuanya menjadi tidak terduga. Musim
yang terjadi di bumi kita tidak dapat diprediksi lagi
seperti yang terjadi beberapa tahun yang lalu. Anda
perlu tahu bahwa penyimpangan itu disebabkan
oleh pemanasan global.
Secara rinci, pemanasan global disebabkan
oleh aktivitas manusia. Saat ini, ada begitu banyak
pabrik yang dibangun. Ini berarti bahwa mereka akan
menghasilkan karbon dioksida sebagai limbah mereka.
Ketika mereka dibangun semakin banyak, maka
semakin banyak karbon dioksida yang dihasilkan.

tanaman terus berkurang dan tidak mampu menyerap
semua karbon dioksida secara maksimal. Akibatnya,
karbon dioksida terperangkap di bumi dan membuat
bumi kita menjadi lebih panas. Salah satu efek yang
terlihat dari pemanasan global adalah es kutub terus
mencair sehingga mereka dapat membanjiri garis
pantai di seluruh dunia.
Ada berbagai hal yang dapat Anda
lakukan untuk memerangi pemanasan
global. Pertama, tanam setidaknya satu
pohon di halaman Anda. Ketika satu rumah
memiliki satu pohon, maka dari 1000
rumah, akan ada 1000 pohon. Itu hampir
sama dengan area hutan besar. Lalu, pohon
yang Anda tanam di halaman, bisa
membuat rumah Anda nyaman dan sejuk.
Karena itu, segera setelah Anda membaca
artikel ini, maka tanamlah pohon apa pun
di depan rumah Anda dan jangan tebang
pohon itu dengan sembarangan.
Kedua, Anda disarankan untuk mengurangi
penggunaan kendaraan pribadi. Tentu Anda tahu
bahwa kendaraan menghasilkan karbon dioksida.
Semakin banyak kendaraan pribadi, membuat karbon
dioksida diproduksi jauh lebih banyak dari
sebelumnya. Sementara itu, karbon dioksida adalah
penyebab utama pemanasan global. Ini
mengharuskan kita untuk menggunakan transportasi
umum daripada kendaraan pribadi sehingga jumlah
kendaraan pribadi yang digunakan dapat dikurangi.
Ketiga, Anda harus menggunakan ventilasi rumah
daripada AC. Ketika Anda menggunakan AC, maka
akan ada gas CFC dan itu membuat intensitas
pemanasan global meningkat. Gunakan ventilasi yang
memadai, kemudian tanam beberapa pohon di
halaman Anda, sehingga akan membuat rumah Anda
lebih sejuk.
