WHAT IS SCOUT?
• Scout Movement is a voluntary, non-political
educational movement for young people,
open to all without distinction of gender,
origin, race or creed.
What Scouting helps in…..?
Scouting offers young people the opportunity to develop:
• Emotional ( Creating a better world starts from creating a better self)
• Intellectual
• Physical
• Social
• Spiritual potentials
• as individuals, as responsible global citizens, and as members of their
local, national and international communities.
The Purpose of Scouting:
Scouting exists to actively engage and support young
people in their personal development, empowering
them to make a positive contribution to society
The Method of Scouting
Scouting takes place when young people, in partnership with
adults, work together based on the values of Scouting and:
•Enjoy what they are doing and have fun;
•Take part in activities indoors and outdoors;
•Learn by doing;
•Share in spiritual reflection;
•Take responsibility and make choices;
•Undertake new and challenging activities; and
•Make and live by their Promise.
World Organization of Scouts Movement
• WOSM is the largest youth movement in the world.
• 161 National Scout Organizations (NSOs).
• 223 countries and territories.
• Over 40 million members in some one million local
community Scout Groups,.
Brief History
• Sir Robert Stephenson Smyth Lord Baden-Powel of Gillwill
• 20 boys and an experimental camp in 1907 It was held during
the first nine days Brown sea Island, near Poole in Dorset,
England.
• 1908; Scouting for Boys ; kings scout award.
• 1st International Conference during 1st World Scout
Jamboree at Olympia, London in 1920, 8k scouts.
• First association outside the British Empire was founded in
Chile in May 21, 1909.

SCOUTING IN PAKISTAN
Pakistan Boy Scouts Association
• The PBSA was officially founded in 1947.
• Quaid e Azam as its first chief, who had faith in scouting for
youth development.
• National Scouting organization of Pakistan and has
526,626 members (as of 2011).
• Ten Provinces (AJK, Railway , PIA, Sea scouts)
• Honor of hoisting Pakistani flag out of the country.
• First ambassadors of Pakistan.
• Global village at Islamabad.

May wadah karta hun kai Allah Tallah; Mohammed Rasool salallahu wa aliy
wasalm; Pakistan kai aid karda faraiz ki adaigi, dosroon ki madad aur Scout
kanoon ki pabandi mai apni puri koshish karoon ga.

Aim and objectives
• "To contribute to the education of young people, through a
value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build
a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and
play a constructive role in society.’’
• To engage more and more youth through peer invitations and
making the Islamian scouts group one of the world’s
successful Scout Group.’’
Programme Objectives:
• Physical: physical health and fitness, including the impact of
diet, illness and exercise
• Intellectual: development of knowledge, skills, talents and use
of creative expression
• Emotional: identity, emotional awareness and emotional
expression
• Social: living and working with others, relationships,
community, culture and diversity
• Spiritual: faiths, beliefs and attitudes
