Punctuate interjections
• Exclamation mark
For strong emotions such as surprise,
excitement or anger
Example:

Ouch! That must’ve hurt really bad!
• Comma or period
For weaker emotions
Example:
Well, what did your mom say?
Um… I don’t think so.

To express uncertainty or disbelief
