Google: From Backrub to Search Giant

Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded Google in 1998 after their search engine project was rejected by other companies. Google quickly gained popularity for its simple and effective page ranking system. It now dominates the search engine market and earns revenue through advertising. Despite early doubts, Google's founders grew the small startup into a global tech giant valued at over $500 billion through innovation, new products, and a focus on providing helpful search results to users.
