forum where the developing countries
could discuss the problem relating to their
economic development.
Primary objective:- to formulate policies
relating to all aspects of development
including trade, aid, transport, finance and
technology

BASIC PRINCIPLES
• Sovereign right freely to trade with other
country
• Good economic relation between countries
• No discrimination – (socio-economic system,
trading method & policies)

FUNCTIONS
• To promote international trade and economic development of less
developed and developing countries.
• To formulate principles and policies for international trade .
• It undertakes research, policy analysis and data collection.
• To make proposals for putting its principles and policies into
effect.
