THE EARTHS TERRESTRIAL
ECOSYSTEMS
Tundra is the coldest ecosystem on Earth and it
also dry. It is located in the lan areas of North Pole.
Grassland are flat areas dominated by grasses,
there are (2 types)- Savannhas in tropical areas
and temperature grassland and the animals
elephants ,giraffes ,zebras,lions,gazellas and
antilopes.
Tropical Rainforest- in in tropical rain forests the
temperature is warm and wet. Some examples of
their flora and fauna are evergreen
trees,orchids,ferns and animals
snakes,monkeys,jaguars,insects and many kinds of
birds.
FORESTS
Coniferous forests, located is cold areas are
home to evergreen trees and animals
including brown bears,deer,foxes and
weaseals.
Temperature decidious forests are dominated
by trees in winter he lose the leaves and
animals like a squirrel.
Mediterranean forest is foud surrounding
areas of Mediterranean Sea. It has typical
flora. Mediterranean forests fauna includes
eagles,foxes,linx hawks and rodents.
DESERT
Deserts are the driest and hottest
places on Earth. The
temperature are so hot and
animals and plants in the desert
are-cacti,small
bushes,lizards,snakes,camels
and scorpions
AQUATIC AND ARTIFICIAL
ECOSYSTEMS
Marine
Coral Reefs:Of all the marine ecosystems coral
reefs are the richest in number of species.
Shoreline:The Shorline is the place where sea
and land meet. Animals and plants which live on
rocky shores have adapted to the strong tides
and waves. One example is the strong muscular
foot that limpets use to cling to the rocks.
Open ocean: The Open ocean contains the
largest ecosystem on Earth. Sharks, various
types of fish, whales and dolphins are some of
the species found in the vast open ocean
FRESHWATER
Flowing water
Rivers and Streams
Many animals live in flowing freshwater
[Link] include fish, crocodiles, turtles
and frogs.
Standing water
Lakes and ponds and Wetlands
The main differences between ponds and lakes are
that ponds are smaller and don`t have waves. Fish,
tadpoles and ducks live in lakes and ponds.
Wetlands are areas where freshwater covers the
soil. Sometimes the ground is covered all year long
and, at other times, the water evaporates during the
dry season. Wetlands have a rich biodiversity,
including an amazing number of bird species.
ARTIFICIAL ECOSYSTEM
Artificial ecosystem can be
terrestrial , aquatic or urban
ecosystem
AQUATIC ECOSYSTEM
Aquariums man-made ponds and fish
farms
TERRESTRIAL
ECOSYSTEM
Domesticated animals.
Gardens, parks, greenhouses,
orchads, zoos and terrariums
URBAN ECOSYSTEM
Urban cities occupy only 2%
include cats, dogs mosquitoes,
rats, cockroaches, flies, pigeons,
migratory birds
