What is a digital Subtraction

angiography?

Dsa is a computerized x-ray technique in which the vascular anatomy;

the vesels are visualized.

It is one of 4 angiography types : conventional angiography, DSA, CT,

MRI.

DSA is used to detect blood cots, tumors and other

blockage in blood vessels and other ducts

What are Materials of DSA?

Specialized X-ray Machine

Fluoroscopic screen

Contrast media/ Flourescien dye

Catheter

Guide wire

Contrast media: dye injected into the cirlularory system that when
exposed to [Link] make the the blood vessels and soft tissues are
visualized.

How it is done?

During DSA, the the patien lie on a table and electrodes are placed on
his/her chest to monitor heart health.

An xray image of the area is taken before the dye is injected.

A local anesthetic is injected into the skin at the side where the dye will
be introduced

A thin tube is then insert in to the blood vessels and the dye is injected.

The computer subtracts structure in the first picture from the second
picture, leaving only the blood vessels.

3D fusion Digital Subtraction Angiography

f-DSA

A new x-ray technique conbine 3D reconstruction of the blood vessels.

It is where 3 D bone and 3D digital subtraction angiography are fused in

a single 3D representation

The blood vessels are not clear enough?

3D rotational angiography

3DRA is an advance three dimensional xray technical made for a better

diagnosis of smaller aneurysms that normal DSA cannot do

Interventional radiology

What is a interventional radiology?

Interventional radiologist make use imaging techniques for purpose

percutaneous, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Significant of interventional radiology.

Cancer treatment: administering cancer medications directly to the

tumor site.

Needle biopsy

Diagnostic test for breast and lung cancer

Biopsy can provide a diagnostic test without intervention surgical.

commonIVR procedure
coronary angioplasty

It opens a blocked or narrowed blood vessels, by insert a very small

balloon in to the vessel and inflating it?
