DEFINITION OR TERMS
EVOLUTION
is
a development process in which something passes by
degrees to a different stage especially a more advanced or
mature stage
QUALITY
Is a degree or
grade of excellence or worth
SCIENCE MODEL MANAGEMENT
Is the use of scientific methods in management rather than
using the empirical rule of thumb
DEFINITION OR TERMS
GANTT CHART
Is a type of bar chart that illustrates a project schedule, tasks,
and resources needed to complete a job or a project
WORK BREAKDOWN STRUCTURE
Is a detailed task-oriented hierarchical breakdown which
defines the work packages and tasks at a very low level. It is
a tree structure of deliverables and tasks that need to be
perform to complete a project.
DEFINITION OR TERMS
MATERIALS REQUIREMENT PLANNING
Is a scheduling procedure for production processes. It is intended to
simultaneously meet three objectives: ensure materials and products
are available for production and delivery to customers; maintain the
lowest possible level of inventory; and plan manufacturing activities,
delivery schedules and purchasing activities
INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
Is the process of gathering, storing, and anlyzing information needed for
a specific purpose such as planning or making management decisions. It
involves the collection and management from one or more resources
and the distribution of that information to one or more audiences.
FOUNDERS OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT
HENRI FAYOL (1841-1925)
Is a French mining engineer, director of mines and
management theorist, who developed the theory of Scientific
Management
He was one of the most influential contributors to modern
concepts of management
Scientific Management is a general theory of business
administration also known as FAYOLISM.
FOUNDERS OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT
FREDERICK TAYLOR(1856-1915)
Is the Father of Management
He used scientific approach to understand the steps in completing
a product and using money to create added incentive for workers
who exceed the average level of production.
He published a landmark book Principles of Scientific
Management in 1911, where he proposed work methods
designed to increase worker productivity significantly.

FOUNDERS OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT
HENRY GANTT(1861-1919)

FOUNDERS OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT
BOOZ-ALLEN AND HAMILTON(1900-1950)
Is the developer of PROGRAM EVALUATION
AND REVIEW
TECHNIQUE(PERT) as part of the United States Navy Polaris missile
submarine program
The PERT is a mathematical model for project management designed
to analyse and represent the tasked involved in completing a given
project .
In conjunction with the development of PERT, Dupont Corporation and
Remington Rand Corporation jointly developed the Critical Path
Method(CPM) to manage plant maintenance projects.
The CPM is mathematically based algorithm for scheduling a set of
project activities
