HOMEWORK:

[Link] what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
How does your product fit in with existing genre types and filmic conventions i.e. how is your opening sequence similar to existing vampire/horror/thriller films out there? Have some examples of films to make comparisons to. Or is it different to the norm and how?

Consider: camera work (shot types, etc), mise en scene, editing, sound.
Remember to include terminology and have a professional mode of address (the style of writing should be like a production company. You might want to break this question up into 3 parts and answer one by one... How your product a) Used b) Developed c) Challenged. First of all, write the questions up in an essay style and then once you have done that, consider how to present using innovative technology to answer the question (be creative about it) you might answer the question using 2 to 3 different new technologies per question.

This question is all about representation within your media product, think of representation of individuals, groups, objects and issues in your Media product. Do your representations fit in with existing representations (any examples)?

Do your representations challenge existing representations/stereotypes shown in the Media? You might want to split your representations up into categories...

REVIEW TASK: 30 MINS


You have 10 mins to log onto your production company blogs and upload your evaluation of Questions 1&2 so far. Once that has been done, using the feedback hand out, go onto another production company blog site (within the AS group) and review their evaluation of Q1 and Q2. Dont leave any questions blank- If they havent discussed the issues raised suggest things they can improve on.

We will regroup at the end to critique your evaluations and pass back feedback sheets.

YOU MUST identify the demographic groups you are seeking to target as your primary audience is this for teenagers, older adults, all ages, is it for males or females or both? Is it all for all teenagers or just for some?

YOU SHOULD consider psychographic factors such as tastes in films and popular culture are Does your audience feedback suggest you have produced something that would attract this target audience?
YOU COULD identify secondary audiences for your product and discuss how you would reach these secondary audiences
