RACH Min Access Level Modification
RASS OPTIMIZATION
OBJECTIVE:
Find the optimum RACH Min Access Level Value for SMART network without sacrificin the pa in success rate
BACKGROUND:
Currentl!" we can control our #L throu h our Minimum R$ level parameter across all vendors %&S&" 'ricsson and Huawei() For the *L however" onl! Huawei has the parameter that can limit the *L access to the network) There is a need to tune the *L access +ecause there are +ad RACH with si nals that are too low %+elow the ,TS sensitivit!( to +e decoded properl! +! the ,TS) At ver! low levels" si nals are prone to noise and interference) Resources are wasted on these RACH re-uests that would eventuall! +e dropped an!wa!)
RACH Min Access Level
Specifies the level threshold of the random access of the network) .f the received level of the RACH +urst is smaller than this value" the ,TS re ards this as invalid and no decodin is performed) .n essence" this parameter would allow us to limit the random access to our network and et rid of the +ad RACH)

The RACH Min Access Level must +e set accordin to the actual ,TS sensitivit! and the minimum access level of the MS For SMART &etwork" <99;d,m is the recommended value for this parameter) This resulted in1 < improved performance while maintainin traffic < hi her success rate of calls and =0RS data" and lower drops < resources +ein saved for those who can actuall! access the network and enerate income throu h SMS and calls
