eBay E-Commerce Logistics Case Study

Ebay was founded in 1995 and has since grown to be a global marketplace connecting buyers and sellers. As an online marketplace, Ebay acts as an intermediary and does not hold any inventory itself. It relies on third party logistics providers for fulfillment of orders. While the internet provided significant advantages to Ebay's business model by enabling a global marketplace with low costs, it also presents challenges related to processing large volumes of transactions, storing large amounts of customer data, and ensuring reliable transmission for its many users. Ebay must also address security issues and limitations that arise from being an internet-based business.
