Introduction : Power and Energy are buzz words in todays world.
Electricity is emerged as basic necessity with Food, Shelter and Clothing for human being. Life without electricity has become highly unimaginable.
Electric locomotives, Heating, Cooling, Fans, Blowers, Motors, Illumination are some applications that converts electrical energy into useful work.

Reasons for grid Interconnection with Renewable Energy Sources(RES) : Due to demand and generation gap( power cuts ) Due to power system losses ( mainly transmission and distribution losses ) Due to increase in enviornmental pollution( mainly due to thermal power plants )
Due to depletion of fossil fuels and many other.

Literature Survey : The IEA(International Energy Association) believes that further growth of renewable energy is essential for a secure and sustainable energy system. The GoI came up with the India Smart Grid Task Force (ISGTF) and the India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF) to accelerate the deployment of smart grids in India. The USIndia Partnership to Advance Clean EnergyDevelopment (PACE-D) programs was undertaken from June 2012 to advance the growth of smart grid in the nation.
