Sound
At the begging of the sequence the musical score is low pitch while the bells in the background are hyperbolic, adding to the effect of the atmosphere making the scene more intense for the audience
The sound doesn't relate to the scene featured as the score is not scary and its upbeat. This challenges what the audience would expect to hear as the mise en scene looks scary and as if a murder happened. Additionally to reinforce the location of the lockers there is a lot of diegetic sounds of people speaking, emphasising the setting of the scene.

Cinematography
The audience first see an extreme close up of this character. This was a focus pull and once in focus the audience only see his eyes, his hands cover the rest of his face, this makes the audience question who he is and why he is covering his identity.

After this we see an establishing shot of the setting. This is after the close up of the character, creating suspense for the audience. This prompts the audience to ask questions about where he was and what he was doing.

Cinematography
The following shots all feature the camera tracking into the girls distinctive characteristics. This is always followed by a shot reverse shot of the boy. This might be showing his reaction to the death, or again showing their relation.

After this there is a long duration track into the girls bracelets, this is distinctive as we see these features in the following shot, this is a graphic match. This makes the character easily recognised and makes us as the audience understand more clearly what is going on.

Cinematography
We then see the boy walking towards the looker. The director used a cross fade again, whilst the character is again wearing the distinctive clothing that we see in the first shot.

Editing
There are quick cuts between the girl and boy. This suggests they know each other and something had happened between them, this prompts the audience to ask questions about what happened. Also there are fast cuts between the girls hand, feet and hair, this makes the audience identify the characters features so they can be easily identified in the rest of the film Also the shot zooms into the hand for a longer time than her other features this is because it is focusing on her bracelets which we see later on after the opening sequence. There is another focus pull of the boy crouched by the water, the face is faded but then it becomes more in focus as you get closer to the characters facial expressions.

Mise En scene
Firstly the lighting is high key, which reinforces the setting of the outdoor river. This challenges the typical lighting of a thriller as often it is low key, dark lighting.

Also the girl is well dressed and in white colors this symbolises purity and innocence again asking the audience questions about what happened, and why to her?
