Management Development is a systematic process of improving managerial knowledge, skills,


attitudes, and competencies to enhance present and future performance. According to Keith Davis,
it is the process of improving managerial performance through knowledge, skills, and attitude
development.
Key Components of Management Development:
Training and Education involve formal programs, workshops, and courses that enhance leadership,
communication, strategic planning, and financial management skills of managers.
Coaching or Mentoring provides personalized guidance where experienced managers help
individuals overcome challenges and build leadership capabilities.
Job Rotation exposes managers to different roles and departments, broadening their skills,

Feedback and Performance Appraisal helps managers identify strengths and weaknesses through
