Each contestant shall be assigned a code number in accordance with the

Official Master List. Their corresponding code number or team name in the
attendance form should be the same with the whiteboard placed on their
assigned seat.

Contestants are strictly required to be in their smart casual attire during the
competition. Informal clothing such as slippers, casual wear, sando,
sleeveless, t-shirt and the like shall be strictly prohibited. Noncompliance of
the conduct as to proper attire shall prohibit the participant/s to join the
competition.

Phones and other gadgets are not to be confiscated during the event,
however, use of such during the competition proper is strictly prohibited. If a
contestant is caught using their gadget(s) will result in immediate
disqualification.

Late contestants are still allowed to join the competition. However, they are
no longer allowed to answer the questions they might have missed. But after
the first four (4) questions in the easy round have elapsed, late contestant/s
will be disqualified and will no longer be allowed to take part in the
competition.

Cheating of any form or kind will not be tolerated. Anyone caught cheating
will automatically be disqualified. Furthermore, the person will never be
allowed to participate in all future NFJPIA-RVC academic competitions.

Participants are strictly not allowed to take photos, screenshots, or

recordings of the questions while the competition is ongoing otherwise, s/he
will be prohibited to join any competitions of NFJPIA-Region V Council this
Federation Year.

Any of the Arbiters or Regional Executive Officers shall be vested with the
authority to impose sanctions on any contestant whom they have witnessed
violating any of the provisions set forth in this IRR.
In conducting the Academic Cups, whiteboard and whiteboard markers will
be utilized. Only ballpens, pencils, markers, and the clean sheets of paper
provided by NFJPIA–RVC shall be allowed on the contestants’ desks during
the competition. Each contestant shall bring his or her own basic calculator.

All questions shall be read only once, regardless of whether the question is
theoretical or computational. Requests for repetition of a question shall not
be entertained, except when expressly approved by the Regional Vice
President for Academics or by an official duly designated by the Regional
Vice President for Academics.

Once the quizmaster says the word “FLIP”, contestants shall be permitted to
flip and read the cutout questionnaires distributed by the facilitators. Any
contestant who flips ahead of time shall have the concerned answer for that
item rendered void.

Upon the flashing of the question, the use of basic calculators and the
performance of computations on the clean sheets of paper provided shall
already be permitted for all contestants.

The NFJPIA-RVC 25th RMYC: Academic League Quests Competition shall

consist of three rounds, namely: Easy, Average, and Difficult Rounds. Time
allotment, number of items, and the corresponding points are as follows:

The Arbiter or the Regional Vice President for Academics may extend time
prescribed depending on the complexity of the question.

The contestants should have raised their answers once the time allotted has
elapsed. In the case that a participant was not able to raise their board on
time, though their answer is correct, they will not be merited with the
corresponding point.
Contestants who shall insist on writing their answers ambiguously, or illegibly
may still claim points for correct answers, only upon the discretion of the
Arbiter and the Regional Vice President for Academics.

Final answers should be complete such as currencies, gains/losses, period

(e.g., year, months, weeks, and the like), and must not be abbreviated unless
allowed by a particular question.

The contestants are the only persons who have vested rights to raise
concern, protest, and/or clarification. They will be given ten seconds after
each question to raise a question, a protest or a clarification, to request for a
new marker or scratch paper, to change calculator if it encounters a
technical problem, or other concerns. Only matters raised within the
prescribed period shall be duly acknowledged.

During this time, contestants are strictly prohibited from erasing their
answers to ensure proper validation in case of a protest or clarification
regarding the concerned question. Upon the expiration of the allotted time,
the facilitator shall immediately proceed to the succeeding question, and no
protests, clarifications, or concerns shall thereafter be entertained.

Each contestant must secure their solutions in the clean sheets of paper to
be provided during the event which can be used as a basis at the time they
are to raise a protest or clarification. Failure to show a solution shall mean
that the tabulation of NFJPIA-RVC is deemed as correct and final.

The contestants will only know their scores at the end of each round. Thus,
they are requested to keep track of their scores since they will still know if
they got the right answer after the time allotted for every question has
elapsed.

In a case where a question was voided upon the recommendation of the

Board of Judges or by the Academics Department, questions coming from
those reserved in anticipation of a clincher round shall be arbitrarily taken to
replace the voided question.

In case of a tie at the end of each of the three rounds, tie-breaker questions
shall be asked until the deadlock is broken. This round shall be called the
“Clincher Round.” Tiebreaker question/s shall have NO bearing on the
cumulative score of the contestants. Whoever gets the right answer and
submits his/her/their answer first shall be declared the winner.

The top five (5) contestants accumulating the highest points shall be
declared as the 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, 4th Place, and 5th Place
respectively.

Only the top 3 participants for every academic cup shall be awarded medals
and the determination of the 4th & 5th place shall be for the sake of meriting
points in determining the Overall Most Awarded Local Chapter for the
Academic League but shall be awarded with a certificate of recognition.

Participants should answer the evaluation form to be provided by the

Regional Vice President for Audit at the end of the event. This will be the
requirement to get a certificate which can be claimed during the awarding
ceremony.
