Bried Description of the Course:
This course provides an in-depth exploration of advanced topics in computer
vision, focusing on both theoretical foundations and practical implementations.
Students will engage with cutting-edge research and technologies driving progress
in the field, including deep learning for visual recognition, visual tracking, scene
understanding, and multimodal vision.
Topics covered include convolutional neural networks (CNNs), transformers for
vision (ViTs), object detection and segmentation (e.g., Mask R-CNN, YOLO, DETR),
video analysis, self-supervised learning techniques, and foundation models. The
course also explores current applications such as autonomous driving, augmented
reality, and medical image analysis.
Throughout the course, students will work on hands-on programming assignments
and a final research-oriented project that reinforces their understanding of
complex vision systems and prepares them for careers in research or industry.
