What is Application software?
Application software is a type of computer program
that performs specific functions.
These function performed by application software
can be personal, business, as well as educational.
Thus, application software or productivity software.
Software Program is developed to assist users with
the particular process related to productivity,
efficiency and communication.
FUNCTIONS OF APPLICATION SOFTWARE
Application software programs are developed to
execute a large variety of roles. The function are not
limited to but depend upon the users need some of
the most common function of application software
are;
1. Manipulating data
2. Managing information
3. Calculating figure
4. Constructing Visuals
5. Coordinating resources
6. Writing Reports
7. Creating Spreadsheet
8. Manipulating images

are the computer program that we use in our
everyday life. This application includes;
Microsoft Product such as ; office,
PowerPoint,Word, Excel, Outlook e.t.c
Music Application software like Pandora, Spotify
and Boomplay e.t.c
Real-Time online Communication like Skype,
Google, Meet, and Zoom.
Team Collaboration Software like Slack
Internet Browser like Chrome, Firefox, Operamini,
Safari.
Multimedia like Vlc Player, MX Player, e.t.c
Almost every other application that you are using
us an example of application software.

academic software, they are designed to

used to make changes in visual data,
images and animation. Example; Adobe
