General Instructions:
i) This question paper consists of 39 questions in 5 sections.
ii) All questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice is provided in some questions.
A student is expected to attempt only one of these questions.
iii) Section A consists of 20 objective type questions carrying 1 mark each.
iv) Section B consists of 6 very short answer type questions carrying 2 marks each And
Section C consists of 7 short answer type questions carrying 3 marks each.
v) Section D consists of 3 long answer type questions carrying 5 marks each
vi) Section E consists of 3 source based/case based units of assessment of 4 marks each with
sub parts.

Q.37. We know from the second law of motion that force is the product of mass and acceleration.
There is acceleration involved in falling objects due to the gravitational force and is denoted by
g. There for the magnitude of the gravitational force F will be equal to the product of mass and
acceleration due to the gravitational force.
(i) What do you mean by free fall?
(ii) Give the formula to find out g.
(iii) Is value of g same at the places on the earth? Give reason for your answer.

(iv) Write one point of difference between ‘g’ and ‘G’.
38. Plant and animal cells have several differences and similarities. For examples, animal cells do
not have a cell wall or chloroplasts but pants cells do. Animal cells are mostly round and irregular in
shape while plant cells have fixed rectangular shapes. Plant and animal cells are both eukaryotic
cells, so they have several features in commonly, such as the presence of a cell membrane, and cell
organelles like the nucleus, mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum.

(i) a. Name the cell organelle present only in plant and not in animal cell.
(ii) b. Name two cell organelle that you have their own genetic materials.
(iii) c. Why is mitochondria called ‘power house of cell' ?

c. State two important functions of Golgi apparatus.
Q.39. The particles of a colloid are uniformly spread throughout the solution. Due to the relatively
smaller size of particles, as compared to that of a suspension, the mixture appears to be
homogeneous but actually a colloidal solution is a heterogeneous mixture.
(i) Give any two examples of a colloidal solution.
(ii) What is Tyndall effect?
(iii) Write one point of difference between homogeneous and heterogeneous mixtures.
