Introduction

In many agricultural areas, a large amount of water is wasted due to traditional


irrigation methods like flooding or sprinkling. This leads to water shortage, uneven
watering of crops, and reduced crop yield. There is a need for an efficient irrigation
system that minimizes water wastage and provides adequate water directly to plant
roots.

Causes of the Problem (Before Using Drip Irrigation):

1. Wastage of water in traditional irrigation methods (like flooding fields).

2. High evaporation loss — water dries up before reaching roots.

3. Uneven water distribution — some plants get too much, others too little.

4. Poor soil moisture management — water doesn’t reach deep roots.

5. High cost of water and electricity for irrigation pumps.

6. Water scarcity due to overuse of available water sources.

8. Reduced crop yield because of irregular watering.

Effects of Drip Irrigation:
