B. Industry Feasibility

India’s student population in higher education has increased by 8, 00, 000 in the year 2019. Every
year, the GER increases, implying the dire need for qualified career counsellors to assist such a
growing population.
In order to understand what Indian Youth really wants (in terms of skills and jobs); the World

passing year, the rising number of students comple ng their higher educa on indicates that the
demand for career counseling job is going to see an upward trend.
13 | P a g e
Career counseling in India is still not a prominent choice for students and parents alike. One reason
being- students and their parents are not much aware of the importance and benefits of career
counselling The road toward a right career path originates from the right approach and knowledge of
the future trends and prospects of different career clusters.
The need of the hour is to redirect the young minds toward potential career options that are right for
them. If you happen to be already invested in this mission, fair enough, you can start your own
career counselling business and scale it to heights with the right support
Before you set on your career counselling business; define who your target audience is going to be.
As per the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), there are two types of career counsellors-
2. Career counsellors.
Educational/ School counsellors help school students in developing their academic skills and social
skills. School counsellors usually evaluate students’ overall performance and identify issues that
affect their performance and how students can improve their scores. Counsellors evaluate student’s
personality and aptitude using personality assessment tests and individual interviewing etc.
Career counsellors help both school/college students as well as experienced professional. Some
counsellors work in colleges and help students in selecting a major or help them in understanding
the jobs they are qualified for with their degrees. Career counsellors also help individuals and
experienced professional in their job-related issues.
14 | P a g e
Digital space has created several opportunities to target your audience easily. If you are just starting
in career counselling, the best way you can gain credibility and experience is by partnering with a
career counselling firm which has a well-established network of career counsellors
Pick a niche
While starting a business in career counselling, you must be aware of the fact that counselling is a
vast field and there are several factors to be considered. You must also understand that students may
have different queries and confusions starting from which course to pursue to which college to take
admission in.
A lot of thinking, discussion and use of a good psychometric assessment test is needed to help a
student decide his/her career goal. If you are just starting in your career counselling job, you can
explore psychometric tools and determine their effectiveness and usability for you and then further
delve deeper into this field. As personality and aptitude of the student plays a vital role in his career
counseling process, other factors such as entrance examinations, scholarships, college applications
and admission are also some of the areas you can specialize in.
It all depends on how you wish to proceed in your career counselling business and which strategy
you chose to follow.
Building a network
The success of any business depends on how well you build your network, be it online or offline.
Starting up a business is a feat in itself but another one biggie you still have to focus on is your
networking skills.
What’s the point of working so hard in setting up a business when you lack the necessary skills of
networking . Make sure you reach out to schools, colleges, tuition centers and coaching institutes
that can help you find your target audience.
A strong network can be created using various methods. You can conduct online/ offline workshops
take live webinars on the importance of career counselling and educate students on how your career
counselling services can help students find their true calling.

materials are important:
17 | P a g e
1. Assessment Tools: One of the most important materials in career counseling is the use of
career assessment tools. These are questionnaires or software that help clients identify their
interests, strengths, skills, values, and personality traits. Common tools include the
MyersBriggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Holland Code, or StrengthsFinder. These materials help
the counselor and client understand their preferences and potential career paths.
2. Educational Resources: Clients may need books, articles, or digital content that help them
learn more about career options, industry trends, or required qualifications for different
fields. Providing these resources equips clients with valuable information to make informed
decisions about their careers. Career counselors may also use industry-specific manuals,
guides, and reports to educate clients on job market conditions.
3. Technology Platforms: Many career counseling services utilize specific platforms and
software for delivering services. This could include job search engines, career management
tools, online learning resources, or databases that provide insights into different careers,
salaries, and skill requirements. Access to reliable and updated technology enhances the
counseling experience.
4. Workshops and Seminars: Materials for workshops or group sessions, such as presentation
slides, handouts, videos, and templates, are essential for delivering valuable content.
Workshops on resume building, job interviews, or career transitions require well-prepared
and visually appealing materials to engage participants.
5. Facilities and Equipment: Physical space and equipment are important if the counseling is
face-to-face. This includes office space, counseling rooms, computers, printers, projectors,
and other equipment needed for the sessions. A well-equipped and comfortable environment
can help create a positive atmosphere for clients to engage in open and productive
discussions.
6. Interactive Tools: In addition to paper-based materials, counselors might use interactive tools
like whiteboards, visual aids, and mind-mapping software to help clients explore their career
options. These materials allow counselors to visually map out career paths, personal goals,
and skills development plans.
7. Client Materials: Career counseling services often provide take-home materials like
worksheets, templates for resumes and cover letters, career goal-setting planners, or
selfassessment tools that clients can use outside of the session. These materials help clients

valid and feasible before a recommendation is made to build a new or existing manual system
continues.
Hardware Requirement:

Money:
Financial resources are crucial to the sustainability, accessibility, and quality of career counseling
services. Here’s how money plays a key role:
1. Operational Costs: To run a career counseling service effectively, there are various
operational costs involved. This includes paying salaries for the counselors, support staff, and
administrators. Without adequate financial resources, the service may struggle to provide
quality support or hire skilled professionals.
2. Technology & Tools: Career counseling has increasingly moved into the digital age, with
online platforms offering virtual counseling, webinars, and online assessments. Financial
investment is required to develop and maintain a secure and user-friendly digital
infrastructure, such as website development, software for assessments, or platforms for
online sessions.
3. Marketing and Outreach: For career counseling services to reach those in need, money is
necessary for marketing campaigns. Whether it's through social media advertising, hosting
community workshops, or partnerships with organizations, effective outreach ensures that the
service reaches a wider audience and becomes known in the community.
5. Affordability & Accessibility: In some cases, financial resources can also determine whether
the service is available for free or if there is a fee involved. Access to funding or grants can
make career counseling more accessible for underprivileged groups who might otherwise be
unable to afford it. On the other hand, charging for services can help maintain the quality and
longevity of the service.
21 | P a g e
6. Client-Specific Costs: Some services might include job search tools, resume services, or
workshops that come with a fee. Financial resources enable the client to access these specific,
value-added services. For instance, if a career counseling service offers resume writing
services or paid job placement assistance, these are often financed through fees or service
charges.

Market Feasibility Study determines the depth and condition of a particular market and its ability to
support a particular development. The main objective of a market feasibility study is to understand
the market to determine if enough demand exists to make the venture successful. It provides a more
indepth and thorough analysis than any other type of market research.
24 | P a g e
per customer requirements and the actual customer encounter therefore assumes particular
significance. However, too much customization would compromise the standard delivery of the
service and adversely affect its quality. Hence particular care has to be taken in designing the service
offering. We are providing high quality career counselling through competent experts and
experiencer.
Pricing:
Pricing of services is tougher than pricing of goods. While the latter can be priced easily by taking
into account the raw material costs, in case of services attendant costs - such as expert and overhead
costs - also need to be factored in. Thus, pricing for our service varies from people by people place
by place. The final price for the service is then arrived at by including amark up for an adequate
profit margin.
and the prices are in range 12000- 15000.
Place:
Since service delivery is concurrent with its production and cannot be stored or transported, the
location of the service product assumes importance. Service providers have to give special
thought to where the service would be provided. Thus, on the basis of research it is found that our
required coustomer are mainly focused in Kanpur, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Agra. beacuse of
availbiliy of large no of students and university and colleges and Schools.
Promotion:
Since a service offering can be easily replicated promotion becomes crucial in differentiating a
service offering in the mind of the consumer. Thus, service providers offering identical services
such as airlines or banks and insurance companies invest heavily in advertising their services.
This is crucial in attracting customers in a segment where the services providers have nearly
identical offerings. We now look at the 3 new elements of the services marketing mix - people,
process and physical evidence - which are unique to the marketing of services.
People:
People are a defining factor in a service delivery process, since a service is inseparable from the
person providing it. Thus, a councelling is very favorable in nature. The same is true for all
students and counltant people. Consequently, customer service training for student is must be first
privority.
Process:
The process of service delivery is crucial since it ensures that the same standard of service is
repeatedly delivered to the customers. Therefore, most companies have a service blue print
which provides the details of the service delivery process, often going down to even defining the
service script and the greeting phrases to be used by the service staff.
25 | P a g e
Physical Evidence:
Since services are intangible in nature most service providers strive to incorporate certain tangible
elements into their offering to enhance customer experience. Thus, there are counselling office that
have well designed waiting areas often with magazines and plush sofas for patrons to read and relax
while they await their turn. Similarly, office invest heavily in their interior design and decorations to
offer a tangible and unique experience to their guests.
