Third Eye

The third eye is the sixth chakra that connects us to spirit and intuition, allowing us to perceive energy and spiritual messages. Developing the third eye involves quiet introspection, meditation, and focusing on the area between the eyebrows, while being cautious of the potential challenges that may arise from increased awareness. As we open our third eye, our intuition strengthens, enabling us to trust ourselves and connect with a greater spiritual presence.

WHAT IS THE
THIRD EYE?
The third eye is our sixth
main chakra, and an
important spiritual organ
which governs our
connection to spirit and
intuition.

Generally speaking, the

third eye chakra is the
spiritual equivalent of
our physical eyes.

However, instead of perceiving physical matter we perceive

energy. The third eye also incorporates other spiritual senses such
as claircognizance and clairsentience. So we don’t just get an
image or vision but a sensation and knowing behind it.

Everyone’s third eye is open to some degree because we all have a

spiritual side. We can pick up on energies, receive spiritual
messages and intuitive hunches.

However, over time our third eye can become inactive or

imbalanced.

With practice we can activate the third eye chakra, and have its
awareness guide us just as strongly and obviously as our two
physical eyes.

HOW TO DEVELOP
THE THIRD EYE
Have you ever
automatically turned down
the television or radio so
you could think more
clearly?

The more sensory input we

have going in, the harder it
is to think/perceive clearly.
The same goes for the third
eye.

So, the best way to start developing your third eye is to set aside
five to ten minutes a day for quiet and introspection.

This could look like five minutes of meditation, a prayer in the

morning and night or one page of journaling. Whatever it is, stick
to it.

At the beginning working with the intuition, working with your

spirit, is like dating. You have to keep coming back and build that
expectation, in order to build something deep and long-term.

Ask yourself these questions:

What problems or obstacles am I ignoring?

What am I not seeing clearly?
How can I expand my perception?

Now I will share a very
simple exercise you want
to practice consistently in
order to open the third eye.

Start by getting
comfortable and quieting
the mind - the best way to
do this is through
meditation.

Once you feel ready bring

some awareness to the
spot between your
eyebrows. This is the
location of the third eye or
pineal gland.

Keeping your awareness here is all that required to start activating

the third eye. Where you place attention energy flows. This is one
of the purposes of a bindi, which is placed here.

However, you can go a step further and start visualizing one solid
color. I like to start with red and work my way through the rainbow.

At first, it can be difficult to hold a color in your mind for even a few
seconds. But with practice, it becomes much more easy, and the
color can deepen in vibrancy and detail too.

With time, colors and images will pop into this area organically,
forming intuitive visions. You might see the indigo color of the third
eye or others that relate to different energies in the body.

THIRD EYE
PRECAUTIONS
The third eye is not a fun
piece of machinery or a toy
we can play around with.

This is an important aspect

of our spiritual awareness,
and so it’s important that
we approach its
development with care.

Just as exercise is important for our physical wellbeing and anyone

can get started. However, if you wish to develop your muscles to a
higher level, there is some safety precautions you have to take into
consideration. So that you don’t hurt yourself!

We might not be ready to see everything that is available to us

through the third eye. We aren’t just going to see auras and
energies, but also understand the ways we are sabotaging
ourselves or holding onto negativity.

When working with the third eye, take things slowly! There is no
rush to unlock some magical or spiritual ability.

Seeing more clearly is a big commitment, that often means having

to step outside of our comfort zone.

CONCLUSION
As we open our third eye our intuition increases alongside it. To
hear our intuition, connect more deeply with our guides, to feel
supported by the Universe, is to develop trust in yourself.

This is not only so you can take the intuitive insights you hear
(however subtly) seriously, but also so that you feel
empowered enough to follow those insights.

Naturally, as we connect with ourselves we will feel the

presence of something bigger making itself known in our life.

Intuition is the voice that comes through most strongly when we

stop pushing for an answer. Ask yourself 'Where am I pushing for
or chasing an answer, and how can I sink into deeper peace?"
Get in tune with the voice that comes through when everything is
quiet.
