This study is aimed at isolating and identifying bacteria associated with ready-to-eat suya meat sold in
selected locations of Gadau community, Bauchi State. Suya is a popular street-vended meat consumed
without further cooking, making it a potential source of foodborne infections if contaminated during
processing, handling, or display. Samples of ready-to-eat suya meat will be collected from different
vendors across selected locations within Gadau community and analyzed using standard microbiological
techniques. The samples will be cultured on appropriate media, followed by isolation, enumeration, and
identification of bacterial isolates using morphological and biochemical tests. The findings of this study
will provide information on the bacteriological quality of suya meat sold in the area and help assess
potential public health risks associated with its consumption, thereby contributing to improved food
safety awareness and hygiene practices among vendors and consumers.
