SAP MM Support Roles & Responsibes

SAP MM Support Consultant – Roles & Responsibilities


🔹 General Responsibilities

 Provide L1, L2, and L3 support for SAP MM issues in a production environment.
 Resolve incidents, service requests, and change requests within defined SLA
timelines.
 Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement permanent solutions.
 Act as the first point of contact for end-user issues related to procurement and
inventory.

🔹 SAP MM Module Support Tasks

📦 Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Process Support

 Resolve issues in purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and outline agreements


(contracts, scheduling agreements).
 Support for vendor master data, source determination, and pricing conditions.
 Handle release strategy issues and approval workflow errors.
 Monitor and troubleshoot IDoc failures in procurement processes (e.g., inbound
delivery, PO output).
 Resolve Goods Receipt (GR) and Invoice Verification (MIRO) issues.

🏭 Inventory Management (IM)

 Support transactions related to goods movement (MB1C, MB1A, MB1B, MIGO,


MBST).
 Resolve stock discrepancies, blocked stock, and stock transfer issues.
 Monitor and resolve issues in batch management and serial number handling.
 Handle physical inventory problems and perform reconciliation checks.

🔁 Integration Support

 Coordinate with FI (for invoice and GR/IR issues), SD (third-party orders),


WM/EWM (goods movement), and PP (component consumption).
 Identify and troubleshoot cross-module errors related to MM transactions.

🔹 Change Management

 Analyze and implement minor configuration changes as per user requests.


 Handle enhancement and customization via change requests (e.g., WRICEF
objects).
 Prepare Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) for custom developments.
 Work with ABAP team for debugging and code analysis.

🔹 User Support & Communication

 Provide functional training and clarification to end-users.


 Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and support issue resolution during
hypercare.
 Communicate regularly with business stakeholders about ticket progress and system
behavior.

🔹 System Monitoring & Documentation

 Monitor background jobs, interface queues, IDocs, and batch jobs related to MM
processes.
 Maintain issue logs, knowledge base articles, and user manuals.
 Prepare and deliver weekly/monthly reports on ticket metrics and performance.

🔹 Key Tools & Technologies Used

 SAP GUI, Solution Manager (SolMan), ServiceNow / Remedy / Jira (Ticketing tools)
 IDoc Monitoring (WE02, WE19), Debugging, ST22, SM37, SM13, SM21
 LSMW, BAPIs, SAP Queries (SQ01), Batch Input Sessions
