PART A – EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS

Unit 1: Communication Skills

Communication is the process of sharing information, ideas, emotions, and thoughts between two
or more people.

Types of Communication:

1. Verbal Communication – Spoken or written communication.

2. Non-Verbal Communication – Body language, facial expressions, gestures, eye contact, posture.

3. Visual Communication – Charts, graphs, diagrams, symbols.

7 C's of Communication: Clear, Concise, Concrete, Correct, Coherent, Complete, Courteous.

Barriers to Communication: Physical barriers, language barriers, emotional barriers, cultural


barriers.

Active Listening includes paying attention, not interrupting, asking questions, and giving feedback.

Formal communication happens in offices and institutions. Informal communication is casual and
personal.

Unit 2: Self-Management Skills

Self-management means controlling your emotions, time, and behavior effectively.

Stress can be positive (motivating) or negative (harmful).

Stress Management Techniques: Exercise, meditation, proper sleep, time planning.

Self-confidence means believing in your abilities.

Goal Setting: Short-term goals and long-term goals.

SMART Goals: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-bound.


Unit 3: ICT Skills

ICT stands for Information and Communication Technology.

Components of Computer System: Hardware (physical parts) and Software (programs).

Types of Software: System software (Windows, Linux), Application software (Word, Excel), Utility
software.

Input Devices: Keyboard, Mouse, Scanner, Microphone.

Output Devices: Monitor, Printer, Speaker.

Memory Types: RAM (temporary), ROM (permanent).

Operating System manages hardware and software resources.

Unit 4: Entrepreneurial Skills

Entrepreneur is a person who starts and manages a business.

Qualities of Entrepreneur: Risk-taking, leadership, decision-making, creativity.

Business Plan includes product details, target customers, marketing strategy.

Types of Business: Manufacturing, Trading, Service.

Unit 5: Green Skills

Sustainable development means meeting present needs without harming future generations.

3 R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Green jobs help protect the environment.

Climate change is caused due to greenhouse gases.


PART B – SUBJECT SPECIFIC SKILLS

Unit 1: Digital Documentation (Advanced)

Word processing software like LibreOffice Writer is used to create documents.

Formatting includes font style, size, color, alignment, line spacing.

Styles help maintain uniform formatting across the document.

Tables organize data into rows and columns.

Mail Merge is used to send personalized letters to multiple recipients.

Headers and Footers appear on every page.

Track Changes helps in editing documents collaboratively.

Unit 2: Electronic Spreadsheet (Advanced)

Spreadsheet software like LibreOffice Calc is used to organize data and perform calculations.

Cell is the intersection of row and column (Example: A1).

Formula always starts with '=' sign.

Common Functions: SUM(), AVERAGE(), MAX(), MIN(), COUNT().

Charts represent data visually: Bar chart, Pie chart, Line chart.

Sorting arranges data in ascending or descending order.

Filtering shows selected data based on conditions.

Absolute reference uses $ symbol (Example: $A$1).

Unit 3: Database Management System

Database is an organized collection of data.

DBMS stands for Database Management System.


Table contains rows (records) and columns (fields).

Primary Key uniquely identifies a record.

Query retrieves specific data from database.

Forms are used to enter data.

Reports are used to present data in formatted way.

Unit 4: Web Applications & Security

Internet is a global network of computers.

Web browser is used to access websites (Chrome, Firefox).

URL means Uniform Resource Locator.

Cyber Safety includes protecting passwords and personal data.

Malware types: Virus, Worm, Trojan.

Strong password includes uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols.

Digital footprint is the data left online by users.
